HOW THE MIRACLE WISHERS STARTED?

My beloved son, Zachary Van, was a beacon of strength and brilliance. As a 10th grader, he excelled in everything he set his mind to, maintaining an unbroken streak of straight A's from 3rd grade onward. He was not only a dedicated student but also a disciplined healthy eating, and exercises, embodying both physical and mental resilience. Yet, what truly set Zachary apart was his heart—one overflowing with compassion and an unwavering desire to uplift others. He dreamt of a brighter world where he and his friends would create a 501C3 to help children in need, driven by his boundless empathy.

Our world was shattered when Zachary was diagnosed with ADEM associated with ANE. For four long months, he has been in the hospital, and today he remains in a vegetative state, his once vibrant mind irreversibly altered. As his father, my heart aches in ways words cannot capture. But amidst this pain, I am fueled by a promise—to see his dream take flight and to carry forward his legacy of kindness.

In Zachary’s honor, I am establishing this 501C3 to support children who are dying and their families during their darkest hours. From providing essentials like groceries to ensuring a dignified farewell with a casket if needed, this mission will bring comfort to those who need it most. Zachary’s light continues to shine through this cause, touching lives as he always aspired to. His spirit, his kindness, his dreams—they will never fade. They will live on.

** ADEM - Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis (ADEM) is a rare neurological condition that involves sudden inflammation in the brain and spinal cord. This inflammation damages the protective covering of nerve fibers, called myelin, which can disrupt communication between nerve cells. ADEM often occurs after a viral or bacterial infection and is more common in children than adults.  It affects about 8 per 1,000,000 people per year.

** ANE - Acute Necrotizing Encephalopathy (ANE) is a rare and severe neurological condition that typically occurs following a viral infection, such as influenza or herpesvirus. It is characterized by rapid brain damage (encephalopathy) due to inflammation, swelling, and tissue death (necrosis) in specific areas of the brain, such as the thalami, brainstem, and cerebellum
